Frequently Asked Questions

...about watching event videos online.

Why are you providing the videos online rather than on CD or DVD?

To provide you with faster access to the material. You can now purchase access and be watching an event within minutes.

What does it cost?

Our charges are unchanged. Whilst we no longer have to cover the cost of duplicating and posting CDs, we do have to pay for the website and the encoding and streaming of the videos.

How do I pay? Is it secure?

Payment is by Credit / Debit card, or PayPal. Once you have filled your basket, and entered your details, we hand off to an external card acquisition provider to ask you for your card details on a secure SSL https site. We never get to see your card details. (In other words, it is all done properly: your card details never get emailed around or manually keyed in)

What happens once I've bought access to an event?

The event gets added to the 'My account' area of this site - that you can get to when you are logged in. From there you can watch the videos and download any handouts.

How often can I watch the event?

There's no limit to the number of times you can watch it, and since it is streamed, you can come back to it and quickly fast-forward to where you left off, or step back to re-watch particularly interesting bits.

Can I get CPD points for watching?

Yes, providing you follow the verification procedure. CPD points are only available for you, so if your colleagues want to get points for watching online, they need to buy their own access.

What format are the videos in?

They are provided in Windows Media format - wmv. Check you can watch the sample video before purchasing.

Can I download the videos and watch them on portable devices?

No, the video streams are designed for watching online through this site.

How soon does an event appear online?

Once an event has been filmed, it is encoded and uploaded to the site as soon as practical, but this may take several days.

How long will an event remain online?

We are building an archive of past events, so they will remain here as long as they are deemed relevant.

I'd like to show one of our own events online- how did you do all this?

Please contact the CBA office for details of the filming and Internet companies we used.
