Inns of Court College of Advocacy (ICCA)

The conferences comprise practical training based on case studies in two specialist areas; the programme includes case analysis, lectures, and cross-examination with real experts. It is suitable for Practitioners over 5 years’ call with:

  • A Chancery/commercial practice (expert accounting)
  • A medical negligence practice (expert psychiatry)

The training will take place from 9:00am-5.30pm on the following dates:

  • Saturday 1 December 2018 – London at Middle Temple
  • Saturday 9 March 2019 – Manchester (venue TBC)
  • Saturday 23 March 2019 – Bristol at Engineers’ House

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Sarah Whitehouse QC in London, Simon Readhead QC in Manchester and Professor David Ormerod QC in Bristol.

Booking your place

Tickets (inclusive of course materials, lunch and refreshments) cost £60 per person. There are 24 spaces per conference (12 in each area of expertise) to be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Bookings for the London event on Saturday 1 December are currently being taken; follow this link to book your place. Please note that you will be redirected to an external site for the processing of your booking and payment. Bookings close at midnight on Friday 23 November 2018.

Bookings for the Manchester and Bristol events will open in January 2019.

There is a limit of 12 tickets per specialist area (i.e. expert accounting or forensic psychiatry) per conference so please book early to avoid disappointment. If your choice is fully booked, your details will be placed on a reserve list in case of cancellations; you will be notified if a place becomes available.

Preparation

Please note that you will be asked to complete approximately three hours of preparation in advance of the course. Preparation will include familiarising yourself with the case study and expert reports relevant to your specialism, and watching a 45-minute video. Further information on accessing these materials will be sent to you approximately two weeks before the conference you have booked to attend.
