CBA Release - Sir Henry Brooke

CBA Release - Sir Henry Brooke

We were deeply saddened to hear of Sir Henry’s death.

His work for the Bach Commission, his long-standing fight for legal aid and proper access to justice were an inspiration to all of us. His speech to the Bar Conference, greeted with a standing ovation by barristers from all practices will long be remembered.

Members of the Criminal Bar were immensely grateful for the piece he wrote for us in December 2017 He signed off that message with a rallying cry; "This is not about money for lawyers.  It is the liberties of England that are at risk”.

I will miss him.
