As part of court recovery from Covid-19, the MoJ have purchased a number of Tour Talk Headset devices to be used in venues. These enable the continuation of simultaneous interpreting during hearings where social distancing cannot be maintained. The Headsets are an addition to remote hearing options.
Originally, 500 Headsets were purchased for use in venues across the Court estate in all jurisdictions. These have proved to be popular and provides a level of confidence in face to face bookings with Language Professionals. Following feedback on their use, we will shortly be distributing more headsets to venues that have requested them.
Staff are provided with instructions on the use and the cleaning of the Headsets after each use to ensure that they remain a safe and convenient option to enable hearings to proceed successfully.
