HMCTS is currently developing its own in-house technology to support the delivery of Section 28 of the Youth and Criminal Justice Act pre-recorded evidence (PRE) special measure to replace the current Vodafone contract.
PRE will soon be launched in every Crown Court in England and Wales and the High Court.
In addition to new courtroom technology, legal professionals will need to register for a PRE account to access recordings.
Make sure you’re prepared for the new technology by following the steps below:
1) Attend the webinar
HMCTS are holding an interactive webinar where you can learn more about the technology you’ll use to access the recordings. There will be a demonstration of the new PRE technology, its benefits and a live Q&A session where you can ask questions about using the new system. The event will take place on:

2) Register for an account
You will need to register for a PRE account to access recordings.

The new technology is replacing the current system in every Crown Court in England and Wales and the High Court. It is important that advocates who deal with Section 28 work are aware of the new process – register for an account and a place at the webinar today.
