HMCTS pre-recorded evidence (PRE) new technology webinar for advocates

Join HMCTS for a pre-recorded evidence (PRE) new technology webinar

HMCTS is currently developing its own in-house technology to support the delivery of Section 28 of the Youth and Criminal Justice Act pre-recorded evidence (PRE) special measure, including a new portal service for advocates to access the recordings of the cases. The new technology will be phased into all Crown Courts from autumn 2024.

The project to deliver PRE is in its second phase of testing, with seven early adopter Crown Courts having already gone live with the new technology, including:

  • Durham
  • Kingston
  • Leeds
  • Liverpool
  • Mold
  • Nottingham
  • Reading

Exeter will be going live as a pilot court site for the South-West region in May 2024.

You’re invited to an interactive webinar where you can learn more about the new technology and how to access recordings. There will be a demonstration of PRE, the new functionality and its benefits and a live Q&A session where you can ask questions about using the new system. The event will take place on:

📅 Thursday 11th April at 🕐 16.30hrs and run for 45 minutes.

Register for the webinar now

The new technology is replacing the current system in every Crown Court in England and Wales and the High Court. It is important that advocates who deal with s.28 work are aware of the new process – register for your place at the webinar today.
