Wellbeing Seminar

Lockdown or ‘Stay at Home’ is a National instruction we are all now familiar with. However our experience of it is unique to us.  We have constructed new ways of dealing with our time, our relationships, our routines and our finances.

So a good question to ask is : have we given attention to the way we think about ourselves, our approach to keeping mentally well, to our psychological well-being, and our coping mechanisms during this time of isolation and social distancing?  Are we more anxious than before or just more aware of our anxiety? What ability do we have to review or consider our current thoughts, feelings and emotions or do we feel too bound up in ourselves and the current situation to do so?

Judith will offer members some guidance. This session which is free upon registration will give you techniques to equip you to cope with, reflect upon, or understand more of your internal and external responses as we go through these unexpected and extraordinary times.

Valerie Charbit and Nicola Shannon, members of the Bar Council’s wellbeing group and wellbeing director for the CBA and SEC will host Judith and ask questions on your behalf which can be sent in advance to Aaron.

Judith is a trained and qualified integrative counsellor accredited by the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists. She has experience in the NHS and in Private Practice, treating clients who suffer from a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, addiction, imposter syndrome and many other concerns. She draws on a number of recognised approaches including  Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred Work and Psychodynamic Theory in her clinical and therapeutic work.  Having this broad base of theory and counselling techniques enables her to offer different styles to clients.

Before retraining as a Counsellor in 2010 Judith had over 20 years of experience in senior roles in training and education.  She volunteers at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital under the Play Therapy Team and is married to a Barrister. She has two grown up children. Judith is offering her time gratis.
