The Bar’s involvement in the 10,000 Black Interns Project

In collaboration with The Bar Council and Bridging the Bar, Keating Chambers, Littleton Chambers, Matrix Chambers, 4 Paper Buildings and QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers have signed up to #10000BlackInterns to help transform the horizons and prospects of young Black people in the United Kingdom.

The 10,000 Black Interns programme aims over a five-year period beginning with a pilot in Summer 2022 to offer paid work experience across a wide range of sectors, providing training and development opportunities and creating a sustainable cycle of mentorship and sponsorship for the Black community.

Chambers are invited to consider taking part. We attach a short note which summarises how the Bar of England and Wales is currently planning to participate, who you can contact to find out more and how your Chambers can sign up and commit to transforming the prospects of young Black people in the UK.

Chambers wishing to take part should email expressions of interest, along with an email address for your designated contact, to Alice at [email protected] by Friday 16th April 2021. Alice would also be delighted to answer via email any questions or queries that you may have.
