International Scholarship Programme

This programme will commence January 2021; further details will be announced in early 2021
The CBA continue to support the Bar Council’s International Programme.

The International Professional and Legal Development Grant Programme allows barristers of seven years practice or less who are in employed or self-employed practice to apply for financial assistance to participate in international legal events of their choice, which contribute to their professional development.

Since 2009, we have awarded over 100 grants, which have helped junior barristers to participate in key international events and programmes in jurisdictions such as South Korea, Hong Kong, Brazil, Japan, France, Singapore, and the United States.

To apply, please see the links on the left-hand side of this page. Read our Guidance Document then submit your Application Form, equality and diversity monitoring form, and proposed budget to your SBA/Circuit and the Young Barristers’ Committee by the relevant application deadline.
