CBA Ballot: Further Messaging – 07.10.22

The Ballot closes on Sunday 9th October at midnight.

Whatever your view, respect that of your colleagues. This is the time to work together and to respect each other and to be professional. Phase 2 of CLAR will commence the end of November 2022, and so we continue to fight for long- term reform, whatever the result of the vote.

The CBA remains committed to the future of the Criminal Bar and to the Criminal Justice System. Your struggle remains our struggle.

A reminder also of the CBA’s hardship fund which remains open for applications.

Whichever way you vote, make sure you do vote.

If the vote is no, the action remains ongoing, and we will push as hard as ever for another offer from government.

If the vote is a yes, the suspension of action will come into effect from 5pm October 10th 2022. This means that our members will begin accepting new instructions and will return to court.

It’s your voice and your vote.

Kirsty Brimelow KC
Chair
