Recruitment is currently underway regarding the imminent campaigns for Senior Treasury Counsel and Treasury Counsel Monitoree positions.
The application window for both competitions will open on Monday 11th December 2023 and close at 23:59 on Thursday 25th January 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity for advocates to operate in an environment where support and personal development are prioritised and to become part of a select team who prosecute some of the most serious and complex cases in England and Wales. It is open to all advocates who meet the eligibility criteria, not just those who prosecute, so we would welcome your help to obtain the widest reach.
The campaign is looking for the brightest and best applicants, regardless of background or location. To be eligible, applicants must be a barrister, or solicitor with higher court advocacy rights, exercised (continuously or non-continuously) for a minimum of:
- Senior Treasury Counsel – 15 years
- Treasury Counsel Monitoree – 10 years
An open evening was held via MS Teams on 20th November 2023 attended by, amongst others: Jaswant Narwal, CCP for London North and Treasury Counsel Recruitment Chair, the DPP, Stephen Parkinson, and First Senior Treasury Counsel, Oliver Glasgow KC. This sought to provide potential applicants with an insight into the respective roles and an outline of the application process.
